Dora Louise “Troxel” Keown

93; of Jeffersonville

Funeral services for Dora Louise Keown, 93, of Jeffersonville, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Legacy Funeral Center in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died July 6, 2013.

Dora retired from Greater Clark County Schools and was a long-time member of West Maple Street Baptist Church in Jeffersonville.

She is survived by her son, Jim Keown Jr., of Floyds Knobs; three grandchildren, Bill Stemler, Doug Stemler and Gidget Smith; six great-grandchildren; sister, Mabel Slaughter; sister-in-law, Betty Keown; and two daughters-in-law, Ruthann Stemler and Mary Helen Stemler.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James A. Keown Sr.; sons, Bill Stemler and Chester Stemler; and parents, Jefferson and Dora Mae Troxel.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

We were so lucky to have her love and unwavering support for so many years.
