John Otto “Pop” Stegner, 84; of Jeffersonville

— Funeral services for John Otto “Pop” Stegner, 84, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial in Sellersburg Cemetery. He died, being called home, on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. 

 He was the owner of Stegner’s Service Station in downtown Louisville where he worked along side his sons. He had previously been employed as a sales manager for the McJunkin Corporation. He was born Aug. 24, 1928 in Marietta, Ohio, to the late Darrah and Alice Maunix Stegner.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Josephine M. “Jo” Stegner; sons, Jerry A. Stegner, James L. Stegner, and his wife, Sharron; grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Robyn, Brandon Stegner, Jacqueline Guilford, Christy Nash; and 12 great-grandchildren.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles A. Stegner and daughter-in-law, Deborah Stegner.  

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
