Mabel L. Snyder, 96; of Elizabeth

Funeral services for Mabel L. Snyder, 96, of Elizabeth, will be at noon Friday, Feb. 1, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, Corydon, with burial in Bristow Cemetery in Bristow. She died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.

She was born in Bristow on July 5, 1916, the daughter of Lafe and Olive Bradshaw Lasher. She worked as a nurses aid at St. Edwards Hospital in New Albany and was a member of the Elizabeth Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Rick Snyder and his wife, Linda, of Greenwood, and Benny Snyder and his wife, Linda, of New Albany; a daughter, Marilyn Kannapel and her husband, Bill, of Elizabeth; nine grandchildren, Julie Ehnle and her husband, Shawn, Beth Crosier, Anita Schoen and her husband, Brad, Mike Kannapel and his wife, Courtney, Lori Thetford and her husband, Jared, Kevin, Brandon and Brian Snyder, and Stephanie Johantgen and her husband, Josh; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Darrell Snyder, two sons, John Wayne Snyder and Dennis Lee Snyder, and a brother, J. Kern Lasher.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
