William ‘Eddie’ Chapman

72; of Sellersburg

— Funeral services and military honors for William “Eddie” Chapman, 72, of Sellersburg, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with cremation to follow. He died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012.

 He was a United States Army veteran, serving his country for 11 years. He was a big joker and could easily be described as the life of the party. He was born Jan. 5, 1940 in Jeffersonville, to the late Andrew and Iva Coats Chapman.

 He is survived by his children, Lillian Lemmon and her husband, Eric, Crystal Jena and her husband, Raymond, Tracy Bauerla and her husband, Jeff,  and William Chapman and his wife, Karen; siblings, Raymond, Darrell, and Melvin Chapman, and Peggy Plazzo; eight granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

  Burial will take place at a later date at Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
