> SOUTHERN INDIANA — Reader looks to God to guide country

The movie “Obama’s America 2016” is showing in quite a few more theaters in our vicinity. My husband and I went to see it Aug. 27 with some friends of ours at the Great Escape off of Charlestown Road in New Albany.

I encourage everyone to go see this movie, especially before you vote in November. It was very well done and very revealing of the truth. We need to make an educated vote in November. Our country’s future and our well-being depends on it.

There are people in this United States who have spouted hatred and disdain for our country and what we stand for. Some people have listened and are following them. Our country has become divided.

The agenda of our educational system has changed and the history of who and what our country was founded upon is no longer being taught in our public school system. God has been driven out of our schools and replaced with an ungodly belief system, a “politically correct” system. This is why people are having trouble recognizing the truth today.

Atheists have been trying to get any recognition and/or symbols representative of God and Jesus out of this country. America was dedicated to God by our Founding Fathers and they sought God’s help in establishing this country. This is why our country has been blessed and why so many people have desired to come to America.

Some people are not interpreting our Constitution correctly. Article 1 of the Bill of Rights states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion (the government cannot force a belief system upon us that is contrary to what we believe); or prohibiting the free exercise thereof (the government cannot keep us from participating in our God-given right to believe in the one, true God); or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press (we are free to express what we believe); or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

It doesn’t mean “separation of church and state.” God desires to be involved in everything we’re involved in.

What used to be good and right is now considered, by some, to be old fashioned, not accepting of others, and hate speech. That is so far from the truth. If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.

I shudder to think about what our nation and world would be like without God. God gets blamed for a lot of things he is not responsible for. He gave us the ability to make choices, and sometimes we make the wrong choices. He is the reason we exist and breathe. He is our help in times of trouble, our courage, our peace, our freedom, our victory, our comforter, our healer, our joy and our hope, in this life and our eternal life.

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” Second Corinthians, Chapter 3:17.
