> SOUTHERN INDIANA — READER CHEERS

... to the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana.

Yellowwood Terrace would like to thank the foundation for its generous donation of $1,000 for our computer lab. Yellowwood Terrace is a community of the Retirement Housing Foundation, a nationally regarded nonprofit organization committed to serving more than 18,000 residents in 166 communities. Since 1961, its mission has been to provide a range of housing options and services for older adults, economically disadvantaged families and persons with disabilities, according to their needs, in an environment reinforcing the quality of life as it related to their physical, mental and spiritual well-being. We believe in our mission, and hope that you do too.

Their gift invests in our future. The people whom we serve will be positively affected by their generosity. Again, we would like to thank Community Foundation of Southern Indiana for remembering Yellowwood Terrace and we look forward to their continued support.

READER CHEERS

... to the administrators of the town of Clarksville for displaying the American flag on all their major retail avenues this past July 4th holiday.

As a veteran and patriot, I greatly appreciate this patriotic gesture

READER CHEERS

... to the young man mo-peding south on North Pearl Street on Friday morning wishing to turn east on Culbertson Avenue in New Albany.

His driving process was to pull over to the right side parking lane on North Pearl, come to a complete stop, not look in his handle-bar mirrors to check for traffic behind him, but turn immediately into the southbound lane of traffic.

That just happened to be my wife and I driving. Cheers because he is one blessed young man.

— William Longest, New Albany

READER JEERS

... to the parents who provide for [or allow] their children [obviously untrained and unlicensed] to carelessly motor around on the vehicles referred to as mo-peds.

— William Longest, New Albany

READER JEERS

... to those retail stores who have the gall to sell American flags that are made in China.

Isn’t anything sacred in corporate America today or is it all about the “bottom line?” As a veteran and patriot, this saddens me. Shame on all of you.
