Bliss House needs your help
The Center for Lay Ministries / Bliss House, under the direction of Matthew Hudson and Julie Schwerer, continues to be extremely successful. The Bliss House Program is designed to care for local women in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
Women are served from Floyd, Clark, Harrison, Washington, Jefferson and surrounding counties. The women residents are working to change their lives and as they do, the changes they are making ripple down through their family, friends, and into our community. They become good citizens. They become contributing citizens.
Bliss House has announced its ninth-annual fundraiser and I am appealing to our community to step up now to support this event. We know there is a serious need for the services of the Bliss House, as there are women on a waiting list to be admitted into the home and into the program. As our residents graduate from the Bliss House program, we provide transitional housing at Bliss Too, further assisting the women to facilitate long term recovery.
Valentine Bliss is the Bliss House’s major fundraiser for the year and a significant amount of their success depends on the success of the event. If you care about Southern Indiana, I encourage you to support this event.
Valentine Bliss will be held Feb. 16 and will include a delicious dinner, huge silent auction, short ceremony and an incredible (but brief) live auction with four very special items you will not want to miss (attire dressy-casual).
The registration deadline is today. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. at 300 Spring, Jeffersonville. Tickets are $50 per person and reservations are required. Questions or ticket sales/reservations should be directed to Michelle Crick at 502-445-1420.
The Bliss House needs your support right now. This is an opportunity to enjoy a wonderfully fun evening of Valentine Bliss while simultaneously assisting the Bliss House in their mission. Make your reservations today, please — and show you care.
