CHEERS AND JEERS — For June 21-22

READER JEERS

... to the landscapers of the median on 10th street in Jeffersonville.

Whatever possessed you to plant the beautiful ornamental grass in the median, knowing it would grow tall enough to impede traffic views. Now, it has been cut almost to the ground looking like someone with a bad burr haircut.

At the very least, it should be replaced with something that adds to the beauty of the area.

It won’t be long until the trees planted there mature, and someone hits one during an accident causing serious bodily injury. That’s another bad decision.

READER CHEERS

... to the Jeffersonville City Council and Mayor Mike Moore for agreeing to hire more police officers for the Big Four Bridge and Big Four Station areas.

Unlike Louisville, Jeffersonville has residential areas at the foot of the walking bridge. It’s great to see our government work together to protect us from potential crimes.

— Jeanne Burke, Clark County Museum
