CHEERS AND JEERS: Nov. 30, 2013

To all those runners who braved the cold weather Thursday to run in the 25th annual Fast Freddie’s Festive Five-Mile Foot Feast. And a special thanks to race organizer Fred Geswein. What started out as a small gathering of runners in 1989 has turned into a holiday tradition. Fred and his workers do a great job organizing the race and making sure everyone has a good time. I am already looking forward to the 2014 race.

Cheers to the News and Tribune for the decision to close their offices on Thanksgiving Day as well as the Friday afterward.  The News and Tribune staff spend many long days covering local news for us – your community.  Thank you for providing your staff time to be with family and friends to celebrate the holiday.

cheers to the city of New Albany Street Department and any others who were involved with the major cleanup along Falling Run Creek at State Street. It is amazing how much better it looks with the underbrush cleared away. Thanks!

A big Thank You to Texas Roadhouse for their remembrance of  the veterans on Veteran’s Day. My heart was warmed by the appreciation I witnessed by young and old veterans. It was a great thing.
