The deadline to submit election-related letters to the editor to the News and Tribune is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30. Those will be published up to and on Monday, Nov. 5. No election-related letters will be published on Election Day, Nov. 6. Below are a few rules to remember:
• We will not publish letters to the editor from candidates promoting their own candidacy. We do accept letters from candidates endorsing other candidates.
• Letters from readers for publication should stick to campaign issues and not include personal attacks or rumors. Time and space permitting, candidates will be allowed to respond to letters questioning them about issues.
• Submission information can be found at the top right corner of this page. Letters should be 400 words or less. Also, the News and Tribune will ask letter-writers if they are related to a candidate or if they work for a candidate’s campaign and note any connection at the bottom of the letter.
