... to Jerry Finn and his crew that continues to diligently find things to BEAUTIFY DOWNTOWN New Albany. Specifically the planters placed on many DOWNTOWN street corners. Also, “attaboy” for the developer/owner who has done the facade of the “New Albany Exchange” at the corner of First and Main streets. That property is stunning after dark!

— William Longest, New Albany

... to the motorist who drove a vehicle from the Greenway parking lot at 18th Street through a huge mudhole, and up the pedestrian access ramp. Unless, this was an emergency personnel vehicle, why does anyone drive their vehicle to the top of the floodwall?

... to the president of the Clarksville Town Board, John Gilkey, and Chief of Police Mark Palmer, for taking a stand against Theatair X and what goes on at this cesspool. The town boards of the past have chosen not to do anything about the activities that go on there 24 hours a day.

Living in Clarksville for the majority of our lives, we think it’s time for the residents of Clarksville to take a stand against Theatair X and its illegal activities.

Let’s take the X out of Clarksville.

— David and Mary Mann, of Clarksville

... to the Floyd County Road Department and the New Albany Street Department. They did a terrific job cleaning our roads and highways during the last snow fall. I am a Greenville resident and the side roads, U.S. 150, and Interstate 64 were in great shape before, during, and after the snow fall. They were very proactive and were prepared for all the snow that came our way. They all deserve a Great Big Congratulations for all their hard work and time they spent away from their families to enable all of us to be with ours during the holidays.

— Sandra Whitworth , of Greenville
