Sellersburg police make arrest on out-of-state warrant

Fugitive found in Sellersburg home wanted in Missouri

SELLERSBURG — A man wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Missouri was arrested Saturday at his Sellersburg home following the concerted work of area police.

Noah Flanigan, 27, was taken into custody about 7:30 p.m. by Sellersburg Police Department officers.

The arrest followed an investigation conducted by local members of the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force — Maj. Jeff Topping with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department and Trooper Shaun Hannon with the Indiana State Police. Topping said he and Hannon were contacted by the Office of the Floyd County Prosecutor and told that Flanigan was in the area and wanted on a warrant. Flanigan owed $11,078 in unpaid child support and was wanted on charges of child neglect and probation violation, which stemmed from Missouri, Topping said of information provided by the prosecutor’s office. He said officials went to Flanigan’s address several times Friday, but were not able to make contact with Flanigan.

Through their investigation, however, it was determined that Flanigan resided in the home and surveillance was set up at the residence Saturday. The men reached out to Sellersburg police, which assisted in watching the home.

Topping said at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, police watched as a pizza was delivered to the home and Flanigan was seen completing the transaction with the delivery person. Moments later, Sellersburg police Cpl. Daniel Cotton went to the door and arrested Flanigan.

He was later taken to Michael L. Becher Adult Correctional Complex. He is expected to be extradited back to Missouri.
