One killed in U.S. 150 crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY — One person was killed and another seriously injured following a head-on accident on U.S. 150 in Washington County, near Fredericksburg, around 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2005 Mercury Sable being driven by Jeremy Hall, 33, French Lick, was travelling west bound when he passed a vehicle, according to a press release from the Indiana State Police. When he pulled into the east bound lanes to pass, he struck a 1999 Ford passenger car head-on, that was being driven by Alisha Riggs, 27, Hardinsburg. Riggs was pronounced dead at the scene and Hall was transported by air ambulance to University Hospital in Louisville with serious injuries.

It is unknown at this time if seat belts were in use by the drivers, according to the release. A crash reconstruction team from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg is reconstructing the crash scene.
