A suspect remains at large after robbing Your Community Bank on 10th Street in Jeffersonville Monday afternoon.
The man passed a bank employee a note demanding money at about 3 p.m., and was last seen leaving the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, Jeffersonville Police Detective Todd Hollis said. The bank is near Kroger and Jeffersonville High School.
Hollis declined to comment on what was specifically written in the letter.
The man is not reported to have brandished a weapon during the incident. Hollis said about 5 p.m. that no arrest had been made.
While the investigation is ongoing, and police remain in the area, “We don’t suspect he is still close,” Hollis said.
JPD patrolman Robert Grinestaff was involved in a two-vehicle collision on 10th Street while responding to the robbery call.
Hollis said the accident occurred in Jeffersonville near 10th and Main street within two minutes of the call from the bank.
Grinestaff and a female were the vehicles’ only occupants, and both were taken to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.
Hollis said Grinestaff is in stable condition, alert and responding to medical personnel.
No information was provided on the female’s condition.
