CHARLESTOWN — A wanted felon was arrested Wednesday evening after Indiana State Police received a tip and found him hiding under a mattress in a Charlestown home, police reported.

Charles F. Jackson, 43, Memphis, was wanted on five warrants out of three Clark County Circuit courts and Clarksville Town Court.

After receiving a notice of Jackson’s location, ISP responded to an apartment on Maple Drive and found him in the home’s master bedroom.

“Charles F. Jackson refused to follow officer’s commands and had to be subdued by the use of a Taser by officers,” according to the ISP report.

Jackson was arrested and charged with resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.

His five outstanding warrants stem from 14 charges, which include three class C felonies, five class D felonies and six misdemeanors.
