CLARKSVILLE — A woman fought with police and her son before she was arrested outside of her room at Pyramid Village Motel on U.S. 31 Thursday night.

Debra Montgomery, 52, Louisville, was found by Clarksville police near her room arguing with her son and motel management.

Her son told police that Montgomery had been drinking alcohol all day and was highly intoxicated.

Both the son and police told the woman to return to her room to diffuse the situation.

Police reported as Montgomery’s son tried to get her back into the motel room, she hit him several times and bit his left bicep muscle.

Officers then intervened by placing Montgomery into handcuffs, but the physical fighting continued.

“During a patdown, [Montgomery] tried to raise up off the vehicle and attempted to kick [the] officer between the legs,” according to the police report.

The officers then took Montgomery down to the hood of the patrol car, at which time she sustained a cut to her upper lip, police reported.

Montgomery was taken from the Pyramid Village Motel to the Michael L. Becher Adult Correctional Complex.

She has been preliminarily charged with battery and battery to an officer, both class D felonies; disorderly conduct and public intoxication, both class B misdemeanors; and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.

Montgomery remained in the facility Friday afternoon under a $20,000 court-cash bond.
