Police searching for Jeffersonville shooter

17-year-old was shot at an apartment complex Saturday

JEFFERSONVILLE — A 17-year-old boy was shot multiple times Saturday at an apartment complex behind the former Jerry’s restaurant property on 10th Street in Jeffersonville.

Jeffersonville Police Department Detective Todd Hollis said the juvenile, of Jeffersonville, was taken by ambulance to University of Louisville Hospital for what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Hollis could not confirm if the boy has since been released from hospital care.

An arrest has not been made, Hollis said, but investigators are continuing to actively investigate the shooting, which occurred about 7 p.m. just inside or outside of King Solomon Apartments, Hollis said.

He said Tuesday morning that it is too early in the investigation to determine if the juvenile knew the shooter.

Hollis said the boy was visiting a resident at the apartment complex at the time of the shooting.

Anyone with information on the shooting should call JPD at 812-218-TIPS.
