Body found in Jeffersonville

Identity, cause of death not determined

JEFFERSONVILLE — The body of a middle-age, white man was found in a field about 100 yards from Holmans Lane Sunday morning.

As of about 2 p.m., the remains had not been identified, according to Jeffersonville police Detective Todd Hollis.

Authorities received the call about 11 a.m. from a passerby who located the body, Hollis said.

He said the body was found near Gardner Boulevard, near a Sellersburg Water Company building.

The body appears to be that of a male in his 40s to early 50s, Hollis said.

He said the cause of death had also not been determined, and he declined to comment on the condition of the body.

Hollis said a medical examination has been scheduled for Monday.
