JEFFERSONVILLE —

No arrest has been made after police say a woman robbed a bank Thursday afternoon.

Jeffersonville Police Detective Isaac Parker said the robbery is believed to have been carried out by a woman who entered Your Community Bank, located at the intersection of East 10th Street and Utica-Sellersburg Road, at about 12:10 p.m.

The woman handed an employee a note that said she had a weapon and intended on robbing the bank, Parker said. She later left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

Parker said JPD is reviewing surveillance video of the incident and the investigation is ongoing.

He could not say at the time if the woman left on foot or in a vehicle, or if she acted alone while committing the robbery.

More information on the robbery and the suspect is expected to be released by JPD on Friday.

Police are asking anyone with information of the incident to call the department’s crime tip line at 812-218-TIPS.
