Scottsburg man arrested for battery, intimidation

SCOTTSBURG — A Scottsburg man was arrested Tuesday after he was identified by Scott County Division of Child Services for the abuse of a child and a woman.

Indiana State Police reported James Terry, North Gardner Street, has been preliminarily charged with battery and intimidation, both class D felonies, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.

Terry’s arrest came after DCS contacted ISP with the claim that he, “ ... battered a small child and a female and then allegedly intimidated the female with death if she called police.”

According to ISP, after detectives spoke with Terry, he was incarcerated at the Scott County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.
