Clarksville PD makes crack cocaine arrest
Clarksville police made an arrest after setting up a controlled drug deal in Courtyard Square Apartments about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police received information that James A. Pinkney, 29, of 10 Pinehurst Drive in Clarksville, was selling drugs in the apartment community. Pinkney was contacted and transaction was set up to purchase two grams of crack cocaine for $180.
Pinkney was seen driving to the designated meeting location in a Ford Taurus driven by a female. The transaction was made in the Ford, police reported, which was later pulled over on Greentree Boulevard at which time Pinkney was arrested.
He was preliminarily charged with dealing in cocaine, a class A felony; possession of cocaine, a class B felony; and maintaining a common nuisance, obstruction of justice, battery to officer, and resisting law enforcement, all class D felonies.
