FLOYD COUNTY — The ramp from Interstate 64 west to I-265 east was closed shortly after noon Monday because a truck carrying recycled human waste spilled some of its cargo on the road.

No specific detour to avoid the closure has been established, according to an Indiana State Police news release. The ramp is estimated to open some time after 2 p.m., according to the Indiana Department of Transportation’s TrafficWise Twitter account, @trafficwise. INDOT spokesman Will Wingfield warned that the estimate could change based upon a variety of factors.

The tri-axle dump truck, which is owned by Kentuckiana Concrete Walls LLC, did not crash, according to an ISP spokesman. The ISP’s commercial motor vehicle unit is inspecting the truck to determine how the incident took place.
