JPD looking for missing woman

Christy Clark last seen at Jeffersonville bar early Wednesday

JEFFERSONVILLE — The Jeffersonville Police Department is searching for a missing woman after a missing-persons report was filed by a family member Thursday.

Christy Clark, 28, of Jeffersonville, was last seen in the early hours of Wednesday morning at the Levee Bar & Grill on Market Street in Jeffersonville. Clark’s car was found in the parking lot of the establishment but there has been no sign of Clark herself, JPD Det. Todd Hollis said. It is not known whether she left the bar alone or with someone else.

Clark is a white female, 5-foot-4 and weighs about 120 pounds. She has black hair and hazel eyes.

Police say it is possible Clark may be with Josh Carroll, 28, of Jeffersonville, with whom she lives at Mayfair Apartment Homes in Jeffersonville, Hollis said. Police hadn’t been able to contact either of the two at the apartment, the detective said.

There is an outstanding warrant for Carroll’s arrest out of Clark County. Hollis said he has been charged with criminal confinement, a D felony, for an incident that Clark reported to JPD in the early hours of Monday morning — less than two days before she was last seen at the Levee.

According to the police report from Clark’s complaint, Carroll threw Clark to the floor while she was holding her child and stood between her and the door while she was attempting to leave the apartment. He also prevented her from making phone calls — including to the police — during the incident, according to the report.

“There’s a possibility that they are together,” Hollis said. “Whether ... her disappearance is a result of something he has done, or her willingly being with him is something that we are trying to determine.”

Hollis added that Clark’s disappearance is being treated as strictly a missing-persons report.

Carroll is a white male, 6 feet tall, weighs about 205, and has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone who observes either Clark or Carroll is encouraged to contact Hollis at JPD, 812-283-6633.
