Two arrested following meth bust in Borden

Family and Child Services called to home

CLARK COUNTY — A Borden man and woman are currently behind bars and face numerous drug charges after being arrested at their Borden home Tuesday.

Troopers from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg assisted the Washington County Division of Family and Child Services where a search warrant was executed to search 20000 block of Daisy Hill Road in Borden, according to a news release from the ISP. Once inside troopers located a working methamphetamine lab, methamphetamine and precursors used in the production of methamphetamine.

Forrest G. Jackson, 29, and Paula McKnight, 33, were arrested and face several charges. Jackson was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, B felony; possession of methamphetamine, D felony; possession of a syringe, D felony; possession of precursors to produce methamphetamine, D felony; maintaining a common nuisance, D felony; dumping of methamphetamine lab materials, D felony; and possession of paraphernalia, A misdemeanor.

McKnight was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, B felony; possession of methamphetamine, D felony; possession of precursors to produce methamphetamine, D felony; maintaining a common nuisance, D felony; dumping of methamphetamine lab materials, D felony; and possession of paraphernalia, A misdemeanor.

This investigation is continuing, according to the release.

New Albany traffic stop nets arrest

Shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, a trooper from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg made a traffic stop on a 1991 Nissan Frontier for driving off of the roadway, on Slate Run Road near May Drive in New Albany. During the stop, the passenger of the vehicle, Jodi C. Schaefer, 33, New Albany, was found to be in possession of alleged drug paraphernalia. A  search found Schaefer to also be in possession of a controlled substance, according to an ISP release.

Schaefer was charged with being in possession of a controlled substance and for being in possession of paraphernalia. She is currently in the Floyd County Jail awaiting a court hearing.

Washington County man arrested for child molesting

On March 18, a detective from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg was contacted by the Washington County Department of Child Services in reference to a female juvenile from Clark County that reported she had been molested by an older male.

After an investigation was completed by the detective a warrant was issued out of a Washington County Court for the arrest of Joseph Scott Amburgey, 30, of  Ind. 160, Salem.

Amburgey turned himself into the Washington County Jail Tuesday for two counts of child molesting, A felony.
