Schools in Clark, Floyd counties closed Tuesday

Wind chill forecasts at -20 to -30 degrees

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — Wind chill estimates of -20 to -30 degrees for Tuesday prompted all four school districts in Clark and Floyd counties to announce school closures early Monday afternoon.

New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated Schools, Greater Clark County Schools, Clarksville Community Schools and West Clark Community Schools have all canceled classes for tomorrow. Though bad conditions for roads aren’t expected, the risk of frostbite for children as they walk to school or wait for buses caused superintendents to make the call.

The National Weather Service issued wind chill warnings for the bitterly cold temperatures on Monday to last into Tuesday afternoon.
