Purdue College of Technology graduation Thursday

Event will take place in the Robinson Theater at Indiana University Southeast

NEW ALBANY — Purdue University will celebrate its 2014 commencement ceremony with 43 graduates through the Purdue College of Technology, New Albany, at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 15. The event will take place in the Robinson Theater at Indiana University Southeast.

A high percentage of those graduating with Purdue University degrees have found meaningful employment in the region, according to Andrew Takami who serves as director of Purdue University's College of Technology in New Albany.

“We’re delighted this year’s graduating class will uphold our high standards of career advancement upon completing their Purdue University degrees,” Takami said in a release. “It’s a real joy to see our graduates walk across the stage at commencement because we know they are receiving complimenting employment opportunities. They are really impacting the Greater Louisville region.”

 He said the Purdue College of Technology, New Albany is working to do its part to connect dots from college to career.

 “Our graduates leave us to become contributing citizens within our various communities throughout the region, upholding Purdue University standards in the critically important science, technology, engineering and mathematics areas,” Takami said.  

The Purdue College of Technology, New Albany, is one of eight locations that offer the College's four-year degree programs across the state.  Nearly 250 students are enrolled at the location in one of its four bachelor degree programs, which are electrical engineering technology, computer graphics technology, mechanical engineering technology and organizational leadership and supervision.
