Jonathan Jennings Elementary School debuts first play tonight

CHARLESTOWN — It’s been years in the making at Jonathan Jennings Elementary School in Charlestown, and tonight it will come to be as 55 students take to the stage in the school’s first theater production, “High School Musical Jr.”

Auditions took place in December with more than 150 kids trying out for the roles.

Rehearsals started in January and despite the numerous snow days the cast has risen to the top and are ready to wow the audience, according to a news release from the school.

The performance tonight is sold out, but there are tickets available for performances at 5 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 21.

Ticket prices are $3 for adults and $1 for students and can be purchased at the school. For additional information, contact the main office at 812-256-7284.
