CLARKSVILLE — Renaissance Furniture

A last-minute change order for furniture to go into Renaissance Academy came to the board at its special meeting on Thursday — with it came a quick turnaround, approval needed that night.

Without it, they might not have gotten furniture for the new school.

The order, more than $257,000, was reviewed by the board at the meeting before it was voted upon. Knott said one of their contractors, API, told them this was the only vendor they could get the furniture they needed for the building. She also said the bid they received was lower than the approximately $300,000 cost they expected.

Board members Doug Wacker and Andy Bramer both said they’d like to have more time to review such expensive change orders. The board approved the change unanimously.
