Indiana schools chief to release online tests report

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz is set to announce the results of a third-party review into the validity of this year’s spring ISTEP+ scores.

Ritz is expected to release the report from Dr. Richard Hill of the National Center for the Improvement of Educational Assessment on Monday.

Disruptions in online testing administered by CTB/McGraw-Hill in May affected nearly 80,000 students across Indiana. Hill’s review was expected to determine whether those students’ scores are valid. Scores are used to assess student performance and determine teacher pay and school rankings.
