Indiana Wesleyan beats Grenadiers in four

The Indiana University Southeast volleyball team dropped its home opener on Wednesday night, losing to Indiana Wesleyan at the IU Southeast Activities Building.

Wesleyan, which entered the contest 0-4 after a tough season-opening tournament in California, won 25-15, 25-10, 18-25, 25-12.

Leading IU Southeast on the night was junior Lindsey Williams, who slammed eight kills. Rock Creek Christian graduate Kim Davidson added seven kills, while Kara Draper and Vanessa Stauble each added five in the setback.

Stacey Flatt and Katie Tinsley each tallied a total of 10 assists in the loss for the Grenadiers (1-2). Defensively, Lindsey Rumph led IU Southeast with 13 digs.

IUS will return to the court at 7 tonight when it hosts Lindsey Wilson.
