Kristyn Maymon reeled off 19 consecutive service points during the third game of a 25-8, 25-17, 25-3 Silver Creek sweep against the Crawford County volleyball team on Tuesday.
The junior had 15 service aces in the match, and staked her squad to a 19-0 lead in the final game.
“I really haven’t seen a lot of things like that,” said Creek coach Jeff Zimmerman.
Lindsey Maymon had eight kills and Kira Jamros added seven in the victory for the Dragons (20-11).
• Mustangs beat Rock Creek: Kala Dieterlen collected 21 assists and Jenna Sexton had six digs, helping New Washington beat Rock Creek Christian, 25-10, 25-19, 25-14.
“We attacked very well and played a very nice match — I didn’t even really have to yell at any point,” joked New Wash coach Gary Graham. “As a team, we hit .311 overall and only had eight attacking errors. That’s very strong for our team.”
New Washington will host Providence tonight.
• Pioneers trip Southwestern: The Pioneers rolled to a 25-21, 25-13, 25-7 victory over visiting Southwestern at the Larkin Center.
Lucy Knott paced Providence with 13 kills. Kelsey Davidson finished with eight digs and nine service points for the Pioneers, while Elizabeth Endris added 25 assists and 12 service points.
“Lucy gave us an offensive spark and helped turn things around for us,” said Providence coach Terri Purichia. “We started the evening sluggish and Game 1 was very sloppy. I was proud of her for stepping up and getting the team motivated to play.”
