Floyd County girl places 5th in NFL competition

INDIANAPOLIS — Before the Indianapolis Colts took the field Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium, a group of talented children competed in the NFL’s Punt, Pass & Kick Team Championships.

Among them was Floyds Knobs native Renee Sisloff, 13, a seventh-grader at Highland Hills Middle School. Sisloff placed fifth in the 12-13 girls’ competition.

Sisloff was rewarded with a football trophy for her efforts, along with the chance to see the Titans-Colts game that afternoon with her father, Neil Sisloff. During the game’s halftime period, Renee Sisloff and the other competitors were invited onto the field to show off their skills and be introduced to the home crowd.

Renee started her road to Indianapolis by competing in a local competition held by Clarksville Parks & Recreation. Her high score in that initial event qualified her for a spot in the sectionals in Princeton, Ind. Renee placed first in her age group at both competitions.

Clarksville Parks & Recreation plans to hold another Punt, Pass & Kick competition in fall 2014.
