HHC GIRLS’ SWIMMING: Highlanders hold off Jeff for third straight HHC crown

Floyd’s Taylor, New Albany’s Thom each win pair of individual conference championships

COLUMBUS —

After challenging for championships the past four seasons, New Albany finished sixth as a team on Saturday. However, the Bulldogs did have some strong individual performances.

Sophomore Regan Thom was one of the stars of the day with championships in the 200 IM in 2:15.21 and the 100 butterfly in 59.22. Junior Alexis Lete gave the Bulldogs a third individual title in the 50 free in 25.48. She was also second to Taylor in the 100 freestyle.

Also for the Bulldogs, Emma Reas finished fifth in the diving competition.

The Highlanders have now beaten the Red Devils twice this season — by a combined 16 points. The two will meet again as the settle the sectional championship on Feb. 8.
