H.S. BASKETBALL: Cold weather causes more PPD’s

Three girls’ games, one boys’ contest called off on Thursday

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — Four area high school basketball games — three girls and one boys — were postponed on Thursday because of the brutal cold weather that has hit Southern Indiana.

The three girls’ games that got called off were Henryville at Borden, Scottsburg at Eastern and Seymour at Jeffersonville. Only one of those three contests has been rescheduled, which is the one between the Musketeers and Warriorettes. That game will be played at Eastern next Thursday.

The lone boys’ game that was postponed on Thursday was a critical Mid-Southern Conference matchup between host Silver Creek and Class 3A No. 7 Brownstown Central. The contest has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25 at Silver Creek.

The following is a list of area hoops games that have been rescheduled this season due to wintry weather:


• West Washington at Christian Academy, Saturday.

• Evansville Harrison at New Albany, Tuesday.

• Providence at Madison, Feb. 15.

• Evansville Bosse at Jeffersonville, Feb. 15.

• Silver Creek at Clarksville, Feb. 15.

• Floyd Central at Silver Creek, Feb. 22.

• Rock Creek at New Washington, Feb. 22.

• Brownstown Central at Silver Creek, Feb. 25.

• Clarksville at Corydon Central, next Thursday.

• Crawford County at Providence, Feb. 25.

• Charlestown at New Albany, Saturday.


• Eastern at Austin, Feb. 5.

• Borden at Shoals, next Thursday.

• Jeffersonville at Madison, next Thursday.

• Crawford County at Clarksville, Feb. 1.

• New Albany at Charlestown, Monday.

• Scottsburg at Eastern, next Thursday.
