Batliner has another productive week for IUS softball



• Chip Hockenbury (Hanover baseball, Jr.) — weekly stats: 0-1 record, one save, 2 1/3 innings pitched, four runs allowed (one earned), four hits, one strikeout, no walks; notes: first save of the season in the Panthers’ 13-10 victory at Earlham last Friday, 1 1/3 innings pitched, one run allowed (earned), two hits, no strikeouts, no walks; team records: 15-19 overall, 8-13 HCAC; Hockenbury’s record: 0-2.

• Chris O’Connor (Marian men’s track, Jr.) — notes: seventh in the high jump at the Crossroads League Track and Field Championships last Friday through Saturday in Huntington, 1.93 meters.


• James Borengasser (Spalding men’s track, Borden native, Jr.) — notes: 16th in the 5,000 at the Illinois College True Blue Open on Saturday, 18:03.66.

• Brooke Conder (Spalding softball, Jeffersonville native, Louisville Presentation Academy graduate, Jr.) — notes: 0-for-1 in the Golden Eagles’ 8-7 victory at Hanover last Thursday in the second game of a doubleheader; team records: 19-17 overall, 10-6 SLIAC.

• Jaime Leon (Thomas More men’s track, Jeffersonville native, Louisville Trinity graduate, Fr.) — notes: 18th in the 1,500 (5:13.42) and 26th in the 800 (2:37.79) at the Presidents Athletic Conference meet last Friday and Saturday in Washington, Pa.
