NEW ALBANY —
The New Albany softball team celebrated its Senior Night on Thursday at Prosser Field with a 10-0 victory in five innings over Corydon Central.
The Bulldogs’ Hannah Morton tossed a two-hit shutout to improve her record to 14-3. She struck out four and walked one.
At the plate, New Albany senior Brittany Jones scored two runs and had one RBI and teammate Kennedy Wynn smacked a solo home run in the third inning.

• Red Devils defeat North Harrison: Emily Gray struck out 10 to get the victory in the circle as visiting Jeffersonville won at North Harrison on Thursday, 7-2. Gray gave up two earned runs on four hits and walked none.
Gray also had a good day at the plate, going 3-for-4. Teammate Emma Coons ended up 3-for-5.

• Dragons blank South Central: Pitcher McKenzie Bush got the victory with four strikeouts and no walks in Silver Creek’s 7-0 home win over South Central on Tuesday. Also for the Dragons, Lexi Kiper went 2-for-4 and Casey Toby had two RBIs.

• Highlanders down Corydon: On Wednesday, pitchers Morgan Harper, Caroline Cato and Kassie King combined to throw a one-hit shutout in Floyd Central’s 5-0 home win on Senior Night against Corydon. Highlander junior Katelin Dreher went 2-for-3 with a homer and teammate Gabbi Jenkins was 2-for-4.

• Hornets take first in tri-meet: Henryville fired a team score of 162 to win a triangular meet on Thursday at Hidden Creek Golf Club’s Links Nine course. Silver Creek finished second with a 172, followed by Austin with a 237.
Luke Davidson led the Hornets with a 37, followed by teammate Mason Edwards with a 39. Also for Henryville, Mitchell Fields carded a 42 and Charlie Lefebvre and Cameron Furnish each shot a 44.
“We’re improving. The kids are working hard and the hard work is starting to pay off,” Hornets’ coach Robin Embry said.
The Dragons’ Sam Garr earned medalist honors with an even-par 35. Rounding out the scoring for Silver Creek were Cody Zimmerman with a 43, Nick Tinsley with a 45 and Ryan Baker with a 49.
