North Harrison product Byrne wins American Athletic Conference title



• Lindsay Krohn (Bluffton volleyball, Sr.) — weekly stats: 12 digs; notes: team-high eight digs in the Beavers’ 3-0 loss at Transylvania on Saturday; team records: 13-18 overall, 4-5 HCAC.


• Oliver Book (Cincinnati men’s cross country, Sr.) — top performance: 14th at the American Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday in Storrs, Conn., 24:16.9, personal record.

• Spencer Corrao (Hanover football, Jr.) — top performance: 21 rushes for 121 yards with two touchdowns (38 and 5 yards), one reception for 26 yards and two kickoff returns for 12 yards in the Panthers’ 28-14 win at Earlham on Saturday; team records: 4-4 overall, 4-2 HCAC.

• Kelsey Davidson (IU Southeast volleyball, Sr.) — weekly stats: 45 digs, two aces; top performance: match-high 28 digs in the Grenadiers’ 3-1 loss to Taylor on Saturday in Campbellsville, Ky.; team records: 16-12 overall, 8-3 KIAC.

• Megan Eve (Holy Cross women’s basketball, Sr.) — weekly stats: 0-3 field goals, 0-3 3-pointers, three rebounds; notes: two rebounds in the Saints’ 79-76 victory at Goshen on Saturday; team record: 1-2.

• Kylie Flanagan (Marian volleyball, Fr.) — notes: four digs in the Knights’ 3-0 home victory over IU East last Wednesday; team records: 18-10 overall, 12-6 Crossroads League.

• Casey Marlin (Lenoir-Rhyne women’s soccer, So.) — notes: one shot in the Bears’ 2-0 victory at Brevard last Wednesday; Marlin also came off the bench in Lenoir-Rhyne’s 3-1 victory at Queens on Saturday, which clinched the outright South Atlantic Conference regular-season title for the Bears; Lenoir-Rhyne earned the No. 1 seed in this week’s conference tournament by winning the regular-season title; team records: 13-3-1 overall, 9-1-1 SAC.

• Leah Mattingly (Ball State women’s soccer, Fr.) — weekly stats: three shots, one shot on goal; notes: two shots and one shot on goal in the Cardinals’ 2-1 victory over host Central Michigan in the MAC Tournament quarterfinals on Sunday; team records: 11-6-3 overall, 5-4-2 MAC.

• Kori Siebert (Hanover women’s cross country, Fr.) — notes: 34th at the HCAC Cross Country Championship on Saturday in Defiance, Ohio, 25:25.1; the Panthers won their first HCAC title since 2001 with 47 points.
