HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Pirates go 0-2 in Silver Creek Spring Swing

NA, FC both defeat South Dearborn, Carroll on Saturday



• Hornets sweep twinbill: Host Henryville swept a doubleheader against Switzerland County on Saturday. The Hornets (2-1) won the first game, 5-4, followed by a 9-3 triumph in Game 2.

For the day, Henryville’s Sydney Hollingsworth went 5-for-7, which included a pair of RBIs in the nightcap. Teammate Emily Hollis was 3-for-4 with two runs scored in Game 1. The Hornets’ Emma Hendricks was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI in the second game.

Henryville’s Audrey Vanmeter earned the victory in Game 1, while teammate Ashtyn Kaskie was the winning pitcher in the nightcap.

• Hornets fall in season opener: On Friday, Henryville lost its season opener at home to Corydon Central in six innings, 13-3. Hendricks and teammate Sierra Elifrits each were 2-for-3.
