• Bulldogs win New Albany Invite: Marin Kanii at No. 2 singles and the combination of Anne Mattox and Racquel Burch won championships at Saturday’s New Albany Invitational to help the host Bulldogs hold off Borden by three points.
New Albany, which had four finalists, scored 41 points to take the crown. Kendyl Wheatly at No. 3 singles and Paige Kruer and McKenzie Owen at No. 1 doubles each won for the Braves.
Jacqueline Hollkamp defeated Erin Kanii 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 to take the No. 1 singles crown.
Clarksville finished fifth, Henryville was sixth and Christian Academy eighth in the tourney.

• Hornets defeat Eastern: On Friday, Henryville won its season opener over visiting Eastern, 3-2. Winning for the Hornets were Shelby Sinn at No. 2 singles, Natalie Bobay at No. 3 singles and Marisa Thomasson and Kendra Tanner at No. 2 doubles.

• Floyd Central fifth at Hall of Fame: Junior Jack Sparrow shot at team-best six-over par 76 to help Floyd Central to a fifth-place finish at the Hall of Fame Tournament at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Rochester.
Eric Lamb shot an 82, Daniel Shepherd an 82 and Devin Jenkins an 83 for the Highlanders. Adam Wood of Zionsville won medalist honors with a two-under 70.
Clayton Crum shot a team-best 81 for the Highlanders at the Floyd Central Invitational, also on Saturday.
