• Jeff edges Providence: Jeffersonville swept the doubles matches and got a key win from Larissa Neville as the Red Devils defeated sectional rival Providence on Monday at Community Park in New Albany, 3-2.

Alison Primavera led Neville 5-4 in the second set before Neville won the final three points to earn a 6-4, 7-5 match-clinching victory.

Providence got wins from Jacqueline Hollkamp, who defeated Morgan Reilly 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 singles, and Kelsey Haas, who was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Kaitlin Wunsch at No. 2 singles.

“Jacqueline has been working very hard on refining her skills and I believe it showed in her last two matches,” Providence coach Vince DiNoto said.

NEXT: Providence at Paoli, tonight.

• Creek sweeps Brownstown: Host Silver Creek had no problem winning its first MSC match of the season, 5-0 over Brownstown Central.

After the Dragons got four sweeps, Katy Hawkins and Gabby Dunn beat Kennedy McKeard and Mariah Phillips 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles. It was Dunn’s first varsity win.

“It was a fight, but they got it done,” Silver Creek coach Robert Briscoe said of Hawkins and Dunn. “I’m excited for Gabby. Maybe this will get her going in the right direction.”

NEXT: Silver Creek (2-3, 1-0 MSC) at Charlestown, tonight.

• Borden picks up SAC win: Host Borden defeated Southern Athletic Conference rival New Washington in its first dual match and SAC match of the season.

Bailey Kruer and McKenzie Owens earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Morgan Baird and Breanne Ward.

NEXT: New Washington hosts Trinity Lutheran, Wednesday; Borden (1-0, 1-0 SAC) hosts Lanesville, Thursday.

BOYS’ GOLF

• Henryville tops Shawe, Eastern: Luke Davidson shot a 39 to help Henryville shoot a 186 and defeat Madison Shawe and Eastern at Champions Pointe Golf Club on Monday.

Mason Edwards shot a 48 and Mitchell Fields a 49 for the Hornets. Tyler Neal’s 47 led the Musketeers.

NEXT: Henryville hosts Borden and Charlestown (Champions Pointe), Wednesday; Eastern with West Washington at Salem (Western Hills), Friday.
