Jeff’s Roland receives IBCA scholarship award
On Monday, the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association announced that Jeffersonville High School senior Lakin Roland was one of 13 girls’ basketball players throughout Indiana to win its Marion Crawley scholarship award.
Roland was named to the Indiana All-Star team earlier this year. She ended her Jeff career ranked fourth all-time in rebounding and sixth in scoring.
Roland, who won the 2010-11 News and Tribune Sonya Wahl Memorial Area Player of the Year award, will play next season at Dartmouth in the Ivy League.
New Albany High School boys’ camp
The New Albany High School boys’ basketball team will have its annual camp in two sessions.
The first session for grades K-1 will be May 10-11, May 14-15 and May 17 from 2:30-5 p.m. each day at Grant Line Elementary School, 4811 Grant Line Road, New Albany, IN 47150.
The second session for grades 2-8 will take place June 4-8. Grades 2-5 will meet each day from 9 a.m.-noon. Grades 6-8 will meet from 1-4 p.m.

Jeff boys’ basketball camps
The Jeffersonville High School boys’ basketball team will hold one summer and two spring basketball camps.
The first spring basketball camp will be held at River Valley Middle School on May 14-17 from 3-5 p.m. The second will be held at Parkview Middle School on May 21-24 from 3-5 p.m. The cost of each camp is $35 per participant.
The Jeff summer camp will be held on June 4-7 and is open to boys from second through eighth grades. The cost of the camp is $50.
Boys attending one of the two spring sessions can attend the summer session for an additional $20.

Clarksville Little Generals summer camp
The Clarksville Little Generals basketball summer camp will be held in the main gymnasium at Clarksville High School on June 4-7.
The camp will be divided into two age groups. Incoming students in first through fourth grade will participate from 8-9:30 a.m., while incoming fifth through eighth graders will participate from 9:30-11 a.m.
The Clarksville coaching staff and players will provide instruction. Camps are open to both boys and girls.
The cost to participate is $25, and includes a camp shirt.
Payment in the form of cash, check or money order made payable to Clarksville Little Generals can be mailed to Jason Connell, Clarksville High School, 800 Dr. Dot Lewis Drive, Clarksville, IN 47129. Be sure to include your student’s name, address, telephone number, incoming grade and shirt size.

Jeff High camp
The Jeffersonville High School volleyball team will host a camp June 7-9 at Johnson Arena.
The camp is open to players in grades 4-8. Times of the camp are the following: Thursday, June 7 — 5-8 p.m.; Friday, June 8 — 2-6 p.m.; Saturday, June 9 — 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $50 per player.

Jeff High Summer Camp
The Jeffersonville High School Summer Camp will be partnering with Epkey Tennis for this year’s annual camp at the Jeffersonville High School Tennis Center. There will be two four-week sessions — June 4-29 and July 9-Aug. 3.
There will be three different levels — college/top varsity, high school/top middle school, middle school/elementary/beginner.
Costs are $240 per session for the college/top varsity and high school/top middle school levels. Cost is $160 per session for the middle school/elementary/beginner level.
Ball State University assistant tennis coach Jarod Epkey will be an instructor for the camp. Joe Epkey, Jarod’s brother, will be conducting additional clinics in the afternoon during the camp.
