Quakenbush named new girls' soccer coach at New Albany



Floyd Central to have summer clinics

Summer tennis clinics at the Floyd Central High School courts, 6575 Old Vincennes Road, Floyds Knobs, for all students entering grades 3-11 will take place during three weeks this summer.

The weeks will be June 3-7, June 10-14 and July 8-12. There will be day and evening classes each of those weeks. Beginning and intermediate players are welcome.

Cost is $35 per week per student. Private and group lessons are available. Call Jennifer Miller at 812-923-3445 or for more information.


Clarksville Summer Series to start May 29

The 36th annual Clarksville Summer Running Series will start Wednesday, May 29 at Clarksville High School.

The series will compete each Wednesday from May 29-June 26 and July 10-24 at CHS. The junior division races (grades 8 and under) will start at 7 p.m., while the senior division races (grades 9 and above) will begin at 7:30 p.m. on each day of the series.

Entry fee is $1 per runner per evening. Each event will take place, rain or shine.

New Albany to have tryouts next week

New Albany High School has set tryout dates for next year’s Bulldoll dance team and varsity cheerleading squad.

Bulldoll dance tryouts will be held May 13-15 at 4 p.m. in The Doghouse. Cheerleading tryouts will be held May 14, 16 and 17 at 4 p.m. at The Doghouse.
