H.S. GYMNASTICS: Jeff girls third at Columbus

COLUMBUS — Jeffersonville’s gymnastics team finished third in a meet at Columbus North on Wednesday. The host Bulldogs scored 112 points, ahead of runner-up Owen Valley with 101.55 and Jeff with 94.50.

Senior Haley Fugate, who is coming off of an injury, was sixth in the uneven bars with an 8.625. Hannah Scott had a season-high with a 7.9 on the uneven bars, Alexa Waldrip scored 7.85 with a new routine on the beam and was eighth on the floor with an 8.4. All of the Red Devils scored at least an 8 on the vault.

Jeff will perform at Saturday’s Columbus East Invitational and will return to East for the sectional on March 1.
