New Wash beats Borden 10-0 to win back-to-back titles for first time

• Dragons edge Red Devils:
In a tune-up for their respective sectionals, host Silver Creek downed Jeffersonville on Tuesday with a 3-2 win.

The Dragons got victories from both of their doubles teams. Jenny Block and Rebekah Knittle prevailed at No. 1 doubles, while Katy Hawkins and Kelsi Scott won at two doubles.

At No. 1 singles, Silver Creek’s Kat Hebble knocked off Morgan Reilly, 6-0, 6-1.

The Red Devils’ Macy Lancaster defeated Grace Clayton at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0. At No. 3 singles, Jeff’s Kaitlin Wunsch downed Gabby Dunn, 6-4, 6-1.

NEXT: Silver Creek vs. Borden or South Central, Silver Creek Sectional semifinal, Thursday; Jeff will host Providence, Jeff Sectional semifinal, Thursday.

Bulldogs sweep Providence: New Albany swept visiting Providence in its regular-season finale on Tuesday, 5-0.

The Bulldogs’ Erin Kanii, Marin Kanii and Rachel Johnson each won in singles action, while New Albany won both doubles matches in straight sets.

NEXT: New Albany hosts Lanesville, New Albany Sectional semifinal, today; Providence at Jeff, Jeff Sectional semifinal, Thursday.

Generals win at Salem: On Monday, Chloe Stephens, Miranda Dekorte and Abigail Hurtgen each won in singles in Clarksville’s 4-1 victory at Salem. The Generals’ Bailey Duggan and Jenni Goldman prevailed at No. 1 doubles.

NEXT: Clarksville vs. New Washington, Jeff Sectional semifinal, Thursday.
