H.S. SOFTBALL: Dragons fall to Corydon, 10-7

Ledgewedge, Kiper produce three hits each for Dragons

SALEM — Corydon Central advanced to the second round of the Class 3A Salem Sectional with a 10-7 victory over Silver Creek on Tuesday.

The Panthers scored four times in the top of the first and twice in the third to take a 6-0 lead. The Dragons fought back to within 6-4 until Corydon scored four straight runs in the fourth and fifth to take command.

Sydney Ledgewedge led Silver Creek with a 3 for 5, two-double performance. Lexi Kiper was 3 for 4, Heather Knight and Shayla Craven both went 2 for 4 and Casie Toby was 2 for 2 for the Dragons, whose season ended with a 17-9 mark.

Corydon Central will face Brownstown or North Harrison in tonight’s second semifinal. Charlestown will square off with Salem in the first game, which is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
