VICK LEADS BORDEN TO 71-41 WIN OVER SHOALS

BORDEN — The defending state champs still reside in Borden and the Braves reminded Shoals of that on Saturday.

Led by Garrett Vick, Borden crushed Shoals to the tune of 71-41 in convincing fashion.

Vick scored a game-high 15 points in the rout and was 10 of 10 from the free throw line.

“We shot well from the free throw line tonight.” Borden coach Doc Nash said. “We had a well balanced attack ended with five guys scoring eight or more points.”

Borden (2-0) also had seven guys with five or more points, three of which scored over 10, and as a team, it hit 25 of their 28 free throws. Kyle Kruer and Cody Craddoc scored 10 points apiece for the Braves.
