• KEY FACTS: The Highlanders have a four-game winning streak in their rivalry with the Bulldogs. It is the longest win streak in the series for Floyd Central since it won four in a row from 1996-1999. … The Floyd County rivalry has had its share of tight ballgames recently. From 2008-10, the Bulldogs and the Highlanders met five times with the average final margin being 2.4 points per game. Four of those five matchups had a winning margin of two points or less.

• MATCHUP TO WATCH: Floyd Central’s running game vs. New Albany’s running game — Led by running back Garry Posey, the Highlanders are averaging 270.1 rushing yards per contest this season. With running back Tuwan Payton leading their rushing attack, the Bulldogs have compiled 170.5 yards per game in 2012. Most likely, the team that gets the most out of its running game and can control the line of scrimmage will win.

• PLACE: Murphy Stadium.

• RECORDS: Clarksville 4-4, Providence 3-5.

• SERIES RECORD: Providence leads 41-10.

• SERIES LAST 10 YEARS: Providence leads 7-4.

• LAST MEETING: Oct. 14, 2011 at Clarksville — Providence 43, Clarksville 28.

• KEY FACTS: The Pioneers have won four consecutive games in the town rivalry with an average victory margin of 25 points per game. The Generals’ last win in the rivalry came in 2007 at Clarksville, 14-13. The win was the final victory in a four-game win streak in the series for Clarksville. … On Friday night, Providence will name the field at Murphy Stadium after former Pioneers’ coach Gene Sartini. During his 40 years at PHS, Sartini compiled a 35-8 record against Clarksville.

• MATCHUP TO WATCH: Clarksville’s offense vs. Providence’s defense — The Generals’ offense has been on a roll as of late. Clarksville has won three of its last four games, averaging 31.8 points per game. Meanwhile, the Pioneers have been struggling on the defensive side of the ball. They have surrendered 37.8 points per game in the last five games. Providence has lost four of those five contests.
