• SERIES RECORD: Jeff leads 20-5.

• SERIES LAST 10 YEARS: Jeff leads 8-3.

• LAST MEETING: Oct. 14, 2011 at Blair Field — Jeff 43, Jennings County 24.

• KEY FACTS: In the Red Devils’ 20 victories all-time over the Panthers, Jeff has held its HHC rival to single digits 16 times. The Red Devils have shut out Jennings eight times in their history. … In the Red Devils’ 41-6 loss to Columbus East last Friday, they were held to single figures for the first time in 17 games. Prior to last Friday, the last time Jeff was held under 10 points was in the 2011 season opener at Louisville Eastern in a 26-3 loss.

• MATCHUP TO WATCH: Jeff quarterback Tyler Fridley vs. Jennings County’s defense — Fridley had a rough game last week against the Class 4A No. 1 Olympians. But Fridley should have an easier time getting the Red Devils going this week as the Panthers are giving up 36.8 points per game this year.

CHARLESTOWN AT EASTERN

• TIME: 7 p.m.

• PLACE: Eastern High School.

• RECORDS: Charlestown 8-0, 6-0 Mid-Southern Conference; Eastern 1-7, 0-6.

• SERIES RECORD: Charlestown leads 5-0.

• SERIES LAST 10 YEARS: Charlestown leads 5-0.

• LAST MEETING: Oct. 14, 2011 at Dutch Reis Field — Charlestown 40, Eastern 7.

• KEY FACTS: If the Class 3A No. 2 Pirates win on Friday night, they will clinch their first outright MSC championship since 2009. Charlestown has won the MSC 15 times in its history, which includes collecting a share of the conference title this season. … The Pirates have averaged 47.2 points per game in their five meetings against the Musketeers. In addition, Charlestown has held Eastern to 8.8 points a contest in those matchups.

• MATCHUP TO WATCH: Charlestown’s defense vs. Eastern’s offense — The Pirates’ defense has been just as impressive as their offense lately. Charlestown has not allowed a point in the last 12 quarters. The Pirates now rank sixth in the state in scoring defense at seven points per game. Even though the Musketeers are averaging a modest 17 points per game this season, they have been held to single digits three times this season.
