H.S. WRESTLING: Three area wrestlers bow out of first round of state finals

Kennedy, Coureur, Jolley-Little all lose on Friday

INDIANAPOLIS — Three wrestlers from the Clark-Floyd area did not advance out of the first round of the IHSAA State Finals on Friday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Floyd Central senior Terrence Kennedy saw his high school career come to an end. He lost in the opening round of the 106-pound division with a 2-1 loss by decision to Penn freshman Drew Hildebrandt.

Kennedy ended the season with a 39-2 record as he was making his second appearance in the state finals.

Jeffersonville grapplers Jasi Coureur and Gavan Jolley-Little each got pinned in their respective first-round bouts.

At 113 pounds, Coureur lost by fall to Hanover Central junior Stevan Micic at the 3:05 mark. The Red Devil senior ended up the 2012-13 season with a 42-10 mark.

Jolley-Little, a junior, got pinned by Indianapolis Cathedral junior Wesley Bernard at the 3:22 mark in the 285-pound division. Jolley-Little finished the season with a 46-7 record.
