COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Mitchell named NAIA third-team All-American

Grenadier senior averaged 15.2 points, 5.5 rebounds in 2013-14

NEW ALBANY — Senior guard Cameron Mitchell was named to the 2013-14 Division II Men's Basketball All-America third team, the NAIA announced Wednesday.

The Cincinnati native averaged 15.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this season. He was the leading scorer on the Grenadier squad that finished 26-5 and 17-0 in KIAC play. The Grenadiers lost to Robert Morris (Ill.) in the second round of the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship.

Mitchell ranked tenth in the KIAC in points per game (15.2), ranked 11th in rebounds per game (5.5) and was sixth in steals (1.7). He also ranked No. 40 in NAIA Division II in total steals and was 49th in steals per game.

Mitchell was named to the NAIA All-America second team in 2013. He is the first two-time men's basketball All-American at IU Southeast.
